Royal Global University (RGU) is dedicated to fostering research and building a robust research ecosystem through a multifaceted approach. RGU emphasizes the importance of fundamental research to understand various phenomena and supports innovation-based research by promoting collaborations between academia and industry, facilitating the translation of research outcomes into practical applications. The university encourages interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, and multi-institutional research to enrich perspectives and promote holistic problem-solving approaches. Integrating Indian Traditional Knowledge Systems (ITKS) into its research vision, RGU aims to promote India's rich cultural heritage. Additionally, RGU prioritizes research that addresses Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to support economic growth, environmental sustainability, and social equity. The university is committed to creating a supportive environment for faculty and students by providing seed grants, infrastructure support, and incentives to ignite and sustain research initiatives. In 2022-2023, RGU provided one-year research grants to 83 undergraduate and postgraduate students, resulting in publications in reputable journals and conferences. The seed grant policy for 2023-2024 includes 54 approved grants, and the university offers research fellowships and incentives to encourage active engagement in research activities, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and the university's research ecosystem.
The Assam Royal Global University has achieved an impressive h-index of 68 as per the Scopus database, marking it as one of the top-performing academic institutions in the North East India. With over 800 publications between the years 2019 to 2024, the institution has demonstrated a strong commitment to research excellence. Encouraging a thriving research environment, RGU awarded research grants to 83 undergraduate and postgraduate students in the academic year 2022-2023, resulting in notable contributions to reputable academic journals and conferences. Furthermore, in the ongoing academic year, RGU has initiated a seed-money grant program, approving 56 grants for faculty members, poised to drive further research initiatives. The university has established a Central Sophisticated Instrumentation Facility (CSIF) featuring advanced instruments such as GC-MS, FTIR, UV Visible Spectrophotometer, Real Time PCR, etc. The university's faculty members have also made significant contributions to esteemed peer-reviewed international journals.
