Student’s achievement:

Mr. Manab Jyoti Kalita (Batch of M.Sc. 2017-19) He has cleared his NET-JRF in 2020 with an AIR of 88. He has also cleared the GATE and SLET examinations. Currently, he is a research scholar in Dept. of Chemistry, IIT Guwahati under the supervision of Prof. Parameswar K. Iyer.

Moucham started his Ph.D. program at the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) in August 2022, securing a position as a Project Fellow. His doctoral research focuses on the "Development of Antifouling and Antibacterial Thin-Film Nanocomposite Membranes for Water Treatment," showcasing his commitment to addressing critical challenges in water purification. He is currently a CSIR-Senior Research fellow (SRF) in the field of environmental science. He already has more than 11 papers with highest Impact factor 15.1 to his credit.

Ms Hiyaman Kalita, student of B. Sc. 2 nd semester, Chemistry Department has achieved the first prize in all Assam Inter-College Prize Money Article Writing Competition organised jointly by the departments of Sociology and English, NEF College in association with IQAC, NEF College on 10th May 2022.

Asif Mondal (B.Sc 3rd Sem) and Hiyaman Kalita(BSc 5th Sem) for winning (1st position) in intra University Quiz competition in the G-20 held in Then Assam Royal Global University.

3 days International conference on "Interface of Chemistry, Material Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences" was jointly organised by the Dept of Chemistry & School of Pharmacy of RGU with Dept of Chemistry of Cotton university from 8th to 10th November 2023. The conference was a huge success
with around 300 registered delegates, 120+ research presentation, 25 speakers across the country.

On the 4th of April, The Department hosted an engaging workshop titled 'Exploring Science: A Workshop on Hands-on Training on Scientific Equipment'. The workshop drew participation from 40 enthusiastic students hailing from different colleges across Assam, including B. Borooah College, Pandu College, Guwahati College, and SBMS College etc.

Meet The Scientist" an outreach program was also organized by the Department of Chemistry jointly with School of Pharmacy of RGU and Dept of Chemistry of Cotton university on 9th November 2023 where almost 200 young minds of Class IX to Class XII across different govt and private schools of Guwahati interacted with some prominent scientists of the country.
