Eligibility Criteria

The Royal School of Law and Administration (RSLA) was established in the year 2017 under the aegis of The Assam Royal Global University with an aim to provide advance legal education throughout the region, at national and globalized level. The RSLA has designed the curriculum and entered into academic collaboration and research partnership with National Law University and Judicial Academy (nlujaa), O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat and to provide extensive exposure to the students and opportunities to interact across the globe. The curriculum provides an array of optional and specialization papers in order that students can explore interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary facets of the discipline. The programmes currently provided by RSLA are: (1) B.A.LL.B. (Hons), an Integrated 5 year law courses, laying emphasis on the comprehensive legal education along with the study of arts subjects as per BCI guidelines, (2) LL.M., 1 year post-graduate law programme providing progressive and advanced education to the students with specialization in Criminal Law, Constitutional Law and some other specific areas of law, and ( 3) Ph.D. (law) programme aiming at developing innovative, interdisciplinary research skills among the researchers in law with due focus on emerging national and global social legal issues besides infusing collateral thinking enabling the researchers to apply knowledge into real practice. Under the BCI norms and complying with NEP, the RSLA also emphasizes on Clinical Legal education arranging Seminars on law, Penal Discussion, Open House Interactive Sessions, Lecture Sessions, Court Visits, Lok Adalat, Skill development sessions, research project works, paper presentations, etc. along with Dissertations to be prepared by LL.M. students for enriching and cultivating practical knowledge of law and engagement with contemporary legal issues. Several value added courses, a unique feature of the Law School also adds to the diversity of its curriculum. The RSLA also encourages the use of digital facilities as a mode of teaching- learning platform to engage students in an interactive learning environment. It has also created a vibrant Moot Court where several activities including Moot Court Competition are conducted to develop and improve the practical advocacy skills of the students. The RSLA has also a Legal Aid Clinic in collaboration with the District Legal Service Authority which endeavored to promote several outreach programmes like Legal Aid Camps and to provide hands-on- legal experience to law students by means of Client Counseling and rendering advice and guidance as required. To fulfill the demands of globalization the Royal School of Law and Administration have put forward immense efforts to produce exceptional legal professionals, law scholars, academicians and other professionals by addressing both the theoretical and practical aspects of the discipline. The future prospects of law graduates and post-graduate students are to join litigation as Advocates, to work as legal officers and executives in law firms, engaged in any research project as research assistants, academics, judicial services, legal researcher, legal outsourcing, public service and administration, etc. The mission of RSLA is to encourage the students in the process of nation building and to contribute to the issues of fairness, equality and human rights.

• To use innovative and effective teaching techniques to create a learning environment conducive for the students to enhance their knowledge and practical skills.
• To emphasise the importance of integrity, skill development and a commitment to the highest standards of legal learnings and practise in order to give students a strong ethical basis along with developing a strong research attitude to achieve the social and developmental goals.
• To cultivate a commitment to social justice by encouraging students to use their legal education in the process of nation building and to contribute to the issues of fairness, equality, and human rights as enshrined in the Constitution of India.
