I belong to a family of educators and writers;somewhere the inner urge to be like them inspired me to join The Assam Royal University to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in English. The Assam Royal Global University has been a steppingstone for my career as it not only prepared me academically but also socially and shaped me into the person I am today.Running for a quick cup of tea in between classes, studying in the library, engaging in group studies, and strolling around the big campus, life in this university was fun. After completing my Masters in English from Dr.B R Ambedkar University, Delhi, I joined BPB Publications as an editor. For the last several yearsI have also been a content creator for Instagram and YouTube where I discuss books. The initiation into literature and the encouragement I received from the wonderful faculty members of the Department of English as well as the exposure we received in the universitygreatly contributed towards forming the foundation of what I am today.
After passing my 12th Boards from Srimanta Shankar Academy, Dispur, Guwahati I joined The Assam Royal Global University for my Bachelors in English. I was able to make progress in my career solely because of the opportunity that I gotto learn from my peers and the promise to contribute towards the university’s intellectual environment. Presently, I am pursuing my Masters in English Literature from North Eastern Hill University, Shillong. I also write short stories and travel articles since I have always loved exploring and learning about varied cultures. The foundation that was forged in RGU academically and otherwise have paved the way for many new opportunities in my subsequent professional and creative journey. The exposure and recognition I received through engagement in various co-curricular as well as social outreach activities shaped my perception towards society. The encouragement received from the faculty members of my department as well as other departments of the university motivated me to step out of my comfort zone and prepare me for a life in the wider world.
My time at The Assam Royal Global University, where I pursued my undergraduate degree in the Department of English, was transformative and filled with some of the most memorable years of my life. The university not only moulded me into a better individual but also pushed me beyond my comfort zone. With engaging events, enlightening talks, and a well-structured course, the university provided an environment that shaped my mind, goals, and personality. The world-class amenities offered a safe and conducive space for learning, allowing me to enhance my knowledge and skills. The supportive faculty and rigorous academic culture prepared me for future academic and professional challenges. I am deeply grateful for the experiences and friendships I made here. Despite my introverted nature, I formed bonds that I now consider family. The university was not just an institution but a second home, where I often found solace with my books and headphones. As I move on to pursue my Master's in Linguistics at the University of Delhi, the encouragement from the faculty members and the rich experiences at the university have laid a strong foundation for my future.
My time at The Assam Royal Global University has been transformative and enriching. Enrolling in the MA English programme in this university was one of the best decisions of my academic career as the university offered a vibrant environment for academic and co-curricular growth. The faculty members of the Department of English were constantly encouraging us to push our boundaries and explore new perspectives. The diverse curriculum and the rigorous academic thrust equipped me with critical thinking skills and a profound understanding of English literature and language. As a published author for the last several years with several books to my credit and an invited panellist in various literary festivals in different parts of India as well as an Editor in a publishing house that specialises in textbooks for school children, I can safely say that the university’s state-of-the-art facilities and resources as well as various workshops, seminars, and guest lectures provided a conducive environment for learning and research and that helped me form a stronger foundation to my literary and creative pursuits. I wholeheartedly recommend this institution to anyone seeking quality education and a nurturing environment to thrive in.
