ADMISSION HELPLINE
At the Department of Environmental Science, RSEES, RGU, we aim to cultivate a thriving ecosystem of knowledge, research innovation, and students’ success and impact. Our strengths lie in –
(i) Cutting-Edge Infrastructure: Our soil and water lab, equipped with Nephelometers, Spectrophotometers, and more, fosters hands-on learning. Mobile instruments like GPS and Hypsometers enhance fieldwork and real-time learning experiences. Chemicals and glassware support diverse research endeavors.
(ii) Thrust Areas: including unraveling soil-water systems (Heavy Metal Pollution), Healing contaminated environments (Phytoremediation), investigating pollution and impacts across air, water, soil, food, and plants (Microplastic Pollution), Assessing environmental and human well-being (Health Risks), Analyzing urban and peri-urban gradients (Noise Pollution), implementing nature-based solutions (Landscape Restoration), Focusing on Himalayan landscapes (Biodiversity and Forest inventory), Harnessing nature-based approaches (Climate Change Mitigation & Adaptation), Championing indigenous production systems (Circular Economy), transforming environmental management (Remote sensing and GIS), and preparedness and resilience (Natural Disasters).
(iii) Future Prospects for Graduates and Postgraduates: including interdisciplinary skills (our graduates emerge as versatile environmental stewards), Research opportunities (ongoing projects funded by RGU offer real-world experience), Publication Success (our impactful research graces prestigious international journals), Regional focus (we prepare graduates to address Northeastern India's unique environmental challenges).
(iv) Student success stories: including PhD scholar research, (Ms. Naphibaniarlin Kshiar - her work shines in Elsevier's "Journal of Environmental Management, IF 8.7), UGC NET & SLET qualifiers, paving the way for academic excellence (Ms. Anusuya Gogoi and Mr. Igo Lollen), Entrepreneurial spirit with eco-friendly startup (Mr. Azekah Marak), and our graduates serve in key institutions, contributing to environmental stewardship (Alumni Placement). In addition, our student’s success is highlighted through awards received as National fellowships for as research grants (Mr. Robert RL Mawnai & Ms. Naphibaniarlin Kshiar).
To foster environmentally conscious citizens with cutting-edge knowledge, empowering them to lead transformative initiatives addressing complex challenges and inspiring positive change
