GUWAHATI, May 1, 2026:
The Assam Royal Global University (RGU) celebrated International Workers’ Day with great enthusiasm, respect, and cultural vibrancy at the university campus today. The celebration was organised to honour the invaluable contribution, dedication, and tireless service of the support staff members of Royal Global University and Royal Global School, whose relentless efforts ensure the smooth functioning of the institution every day.
The event witnessed active participation from the support staff of both RGU and Royal Global School, creating an atmosphere filled with unity, joy, and appreciation. The celebration highlighted the importance of dignity of labour and recognised the commitment of the workforce that forms the backbone of the institution.
The programme featured a colourful cultural showcase presented by the staff members themselves. Performances included soulful Nagara Naam, lively renditions of popular songs by celebrated Assamese singer Zubeen Garg, energetic Bihu dance, traditional Tiwa dance, graceful Jaintia dance, devotional Guru Bandana, and Assamese modern songs. The performances reflected the rich cultural diversity and harmony of the Northeast and received warm appreciation from the audience.
Addressing the gathering, Binita Jain, Vice Principal of Royal Global School, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all support staff members for their unwavering dedication and sincere service towards the institution. She appreciated their hard work, discipline, and commitment, stating that the growth and success of the institution are deeply rooted in the efforts of every staff member working behind the scenes.
She further remarked that May Day serves as an important reminder to acknowledge and celebrate the dignity of labour and the collective contribution of workers across all sectors. Encouraging the staff members, she praised their enthusiasm and cultural spirit displayed during the celebration.
