Programme Overview:

Psychology is the scientiļ¬c study of the mental and behavioral functions of humans and animals. Subjects usually studied under this degree are Advanced General Psychology, Statistics & Research Methods, Psychopathology, Health Psychology, Psycho-Therapeutics, Industrial Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Neuro-Psychology, Psycho diagnostics, Clinical Psychology, Social Psychology etc. Application of psychological principles to solve human problems has acquired new dimension with the changing nature of the challenges that the world faces today. In view of this, the scientiļ¬c discipline of applied psychology has emerged as a natural process of evolution in the knowledge base. In Clinical Psychology the subject focuses on the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental disorders.

Candidates with MA in Psychology are recruited in various positions like counsellors where student counseling as well as mental ļ¬tness services to adolescents is provided. Jobs as Junior Psychologist in the community mental ļ¬tness departments, jobs with private companies involved in the research, are also available.
