10+2 in science stream or equivalent from a recognized Board/ Council with Mathematics as a compulsory subject and minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate (5% relaxation to SC/ST/OBC – Non Creamy Layer)

Programme Overview:

The study of B. Planning is a four-year course that deals with various planning techniques. The working areas include small congested towns, villages, metropolitan cities, etc. The program has been designed to offer to eligible candidates’ specialization in a wide range of designing, engineering, managing and also resolving challenges related to urban human settlements, while at the same time building competence in a particular area of business. Further, it aims to build competent business acumen within the students. One of the principle objectives of the course is to make optimum use of resources available in front of the students and create functional and comfortable environment using those resources, as also for pursuing advanced research in the discipline.

Career Opportunities:

After completing the 4 years long Bachelor of Planning course, graduates may start working as professional planners for Government or Private enterprises and setups. Government Departments related to Urban and Town planning, Government operated Housing schemes, Government Transportation Projects (Highways, Railways and Metros etc.), Government Construction and rehabilitation projects, PWD job posts, Municipal Corporation job posts etc. are well known Government job opportunities available in front of planning graduates. Government agencies taking care of above mentioned and/or similar services are known to recruit planning professionals. When it comes to private sector, firms indulged in Realty Development, Construction firms, Architecture and Interior Design firms, Public Structure Construction firms (PPP model- like roads and bridges etc), NGOs etc are known to recruit planning professionals.
