Programme Overview:

The curriculum is evenly balanced in imparting technical skills in various areas of mass communication and mass media, theoretical knowledge and perspectives which determine their nature and use and a historical and social understanding of their dynamics. The programme delivery is tailored to meet the needs of different fields of media. It comprises a good mix of formal understanding of their dynamics. Communication theories and models, Print Journalism, Digital Photography, Television Production and Writing, Web Journalism, Radio Production, Social Media, Public Relations, Advertising, Event Management, data Journalism, Film Making, media Law and Ethics.

Pedagogy:

Royal School of Communications & Media offers professional-standard technical, production, teaching and research facilities plus a dedicated team of specialist staff who are involved in diverse commercial production activities, as well as supporting students throughout their studies.

The established Media Centre houses a large television studio, radio broadcast facilities, air-conditioned TV edit suites and a separate post-production teaching facility. The school also conducts a variety of career enhancement programs and provides career support from experienced faculty.

Programme Outcome:

With the enormous opportunities that are present in the Indian media and entertainment industry, there is ample place for talent with good creativity. Add to that innovative out of the box thinking, expertise in the chosen area of specialization and zeal to work creates a candidate that reputed media and entertainment houses are waiting to recruit. After completion of the programme, a student, based on his or her specialization, can work in various departments of media and entertainment houses like marketing, technical, designing, managerial, editing, scaling, anchoring, acting, composing, directing, producing, editing and so on. They can also opt for a Master Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication or work as a freelancer. With the enormous opportunities that are present in the Indian media and entertainment industry, there is ample place for talent with good creativity. After completing the programme the students will attain great presentation skills and will learn to practically implement their learnings in the corporate world. Students will learn to write, edit and design newspapers, shoot and anchor news bulletins and television programmes, make radio jingles, print and web advertisements, produce corporate films and documentaries etc. The 3 year programme also equips the students with entrepreneurial skills that enable them to become successful entrepreneurs, based on their specialization.
