Programme Overview:

Performing arts are forms of arts in which the artists use their physical ability, such as body, face and presence, to perform in front of the audience. There are mainly three categories of performing arts - Music, Drama and Dance. Music is related to Singing, Composing Original music, Playing, Musical Instruments etc. In drama, an artist depicts a story or a thought by combining Speech, Gestures, Music, Dance, Facial Expressions and Sound.

Pedagogy:

Royal Global University‘s Bachelor of Performing Arts is unique. This special, exciting collaboration between the Theatre, Music and Dance programmes gives students a rare opportunity to study a variety of art forms blended into one degree. As a Bachelor of Performing Arts student one can take part in practical classes, perform in our fully equipped theatre, in our Music and Dance studios and performance spaces.

Programme Outcome:

Students will develop their knowledge and skills in a variety of different performance forms will also learn about the history, theories and key practitioners in the worlds of theatre, dance and music. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to perform in, or direct productions for our Theatre programme. It is a highly practical, distinctive course that immerses students in cutting-edge, interdisciplinary practice, preparing them to enter the let century Performing Arts industry. It follows a versatile approach with a focus on making performance for a range of situations. Students will demonstrate comprehension of content knowledge and production processes in various performing arts disciplines. They will learn to apply the elements of art and principles of design. They will demonstrate critical thinking through analysis and evaluation of works of art and mastery of their designated area of concentration. Students will demonstrate the ability to construct and defend a composition through the oral, written, and visual presentation of their work. They will learn and apply essential skills of musical performance and will possess comprehensive knowledge of music theory and demonstrate essential aural skills. Students will possess a comprehensive knowledge of music history and synthesize the analysis of literature, performance styles, and genres of various forms of music. They will demonstrate and apply essential skills of musical performance. They will be competent enough to create, research, critically analyze, and evaluate a theatrical artifact. They will also learn to identify and understand historical, multicultural, and social contexts for an artifact as they pertain to significant periods, genres, and styles.
