Programme Overview:

To bridge the gap between legal theory and practice, an understanding of the trade and commerce is essential. Law is a profession that works in economic context, and therefore for a legal practitioner, training in the economic science is prerequisite.

The program combines the knowledge of economic sciences with special training in law. The trade, finance and commerce component, of the BA.LL.B (Hons.) course includes subjects such as accounts, finance, economics, and languages etc. which are supplemented by a range of law subjects and together they provide a broad-based multidisciplinary foundation to the curriculum.

Trade & Commerce and Law are interrelated fields of work. For a legal practitioner, training in the economics of law is important as it is a profession that works in economic context. Programme Outcome:

Upon completion of the course the students will develop a deepened understanding of law in a variety of contexts and will critically engage with the role of law in managerial practice. They will also display the ability to deal with different types of legal issues and laws. They will be able to apply critical and contextual approaches across a wide variety of subject matter and develop the ability to analyze, articulate and write on the subject. The students will also gain self-confidence, knowledge, understanding and skills that will provide added benefit to them as individuals, to the legal profession and to society as a whole.
