Programme Overview:

The Master of Technology is a 2-year full time course where students will learn to become expert engineering professionals, by applying technical knowledge, skills along with modern engineering tools to produce novel products. This curriculum incorporates advanced course work and research in engineering for students to think critically for creative and innovative ways to solve technical problems. A student completing this course will gain deeper understanding that will make way for an exciting career. It will also strengthen the root of a student’s research works.

Pedagogy:

M.Tech. Programs have been designed to transform the students into competent professionals. The curriculum has been developed considering the present and future needs of industry and higher education. Teachers prepare detailed presentations, lab manuals and course files to ensure the effectiveness of teaching-learning process. They are encouraged to undertake projects in various areas of the industry to augment their theoretical learning. The Institute is making a conscious effort to shift from the traditional classroom teaching learning process to a problem based, project-based and scenario based teaching learning process. For M.Tech. courses, emphasis is given on the practical know-how and application of the subject matter and special emphasis is given on problem solving and self-learning.

All learning facilities for students, pursuing M.Tech., are fully provided like, the required facilities for effective delivery of lectures, state of the art computational facilities and laboratory facilities. More emphasis is being given to practical classes through effective, elaborate and rigorous laboratory classes to reinforce the theoretical knowledge.

Career Opportunities:

M.Tech. holder connects with many reputed organizations and gets placed in good position in companies like (HTC, Intel, SanDisk, red-hot, BHEL, ISRO etc.) He may become Lecturer, Scientist, and Researchers etc. Enterprises and Departments like- BHEL, Indian Railways, Indian Armed Forces, HAL, BSNL, State Wise Electricity Boards, DRDO, Hydroelectric Power plants, Thermal Power Plants, Telecommunications sector, Industries involved in production and manufacturing, Energy (solar and wind) sector etc. are the prime recruiters.

Programme Outcome:

Formal and informal learning opportunities are provided to the students to expand their technical skills through research based learning process. Students are empowered to demonstrate leadership qualities in functioning efficiently in their respective professions in industries they choose to work. M.Tech. degree enhances student’s professional qualifications and builds up a strong social industrial network M.Tech. students are able to contribute by research and innovation to solve engineering problems and design system and process to meet desired need within society constrains such as health, safety, security and manufacturability. It helps the students understand the impact of engineering solutions in a contemporary, global environment for sustainable development.
