Programme Overview:

Bachelor of Commerce is a three years graduate degree programme which prepares students to be adequately equipped with good depth of knowledge and skills required for careers in Business. With an innovative curriculum design and content the course empower students to conveniently adapt to an ever changing and dynamic business environment. It enables students to have good fundamental knowledge of Accounting, Economics, Taxation, Statistics, Auditing and Finance and in addition to Management subjects.

Royal School of Commerce has introduced B.Com classes in two shifts (morning and day) from the academic session 2016-17 for the benefit of aspiring Chartered Accountancy students in particular and self-employed as well as working candidates in general. The course is designed to give knowledge and skill that will sustain an environment of learning and creativity, to enhance high quality education in business studies and offer as a platform for those who decide to continue with higher education and research or pursue a professional career after completing graduation, to assist to serve the needs of those who intend to work in business houses or start their own business and to enable students to be capable of making decisions at all level of management. In continuation of our efforts to provide better educational facilities to the society, this move will facilitate the students to attend CA/other professional classes without compromising regular classes.

Pedagogy:

A variety of teaching and learning techniques are employed to impart knowledge and skills to students at Royal School of Commerce. Lectures, case analysis, simulation games, exercises, syndicates, group discussions and practical project work are commonly used to develop conceptual, analytical and decision making skills and to prepare the students to face the challenges of the complex business and organizational environment. An attempt is made to assess the students' performance through a continuous system of tests, quizzes, and mid-term and semester-end examination to ensure highest academic standards as well as practical orientation. Case based Teaching Methodology is followed in the lesson plans to give a first-hand experience to the students in their respective specializations. The focus of this process is to encourage group/ individual presentations which will enhance their analytical and decision making abilities. Business simulations and role-plays which mimic real life business situations are regularly conducted in the curriculum. These simulations help the students in applying the learnt concepts and theories to aid business decision making. Assignments and projects on a regular basis are given to the students which further enhances their critical thinking, reasoning and creative skills.

The facilities like; Book Bank Facility for all admitted students, Special classes by experienced Chartered Accountants, Free Tally Training in Accounting, Mentorship Programme & Tutorial classes, Case study method of teaching & learning, Interactive sessions with personalities of repute (National / International Level), Facilities for personality development including soft skill, co—curricular activities & motivational training. Centrally air-conditioned world class infrastructure facilities, communication lab to develop their communication skills, well stocked library including e-journals etc.

The three year programme is challenging and yet very rewarding to students with high career aspirations. It builds competence and confidence among students to pursue and complete professional courses such as CA, CFA, ICWA, ACS etc. There are lucrative job opportunities in various industries such as:

Programme Outcome:
