Programme Overview:

The department of Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), is run by a team of well-qualified and dedicated teaching staff. The department focuses on transforming young minds into future technocrats who will excel in different fields like Telecommunication, Networking, and IT etc. The department believes in producing engineers with good theoretical knowledge as well as practical skills. Well-equipped modern laboratory facilities act as strong support.

The current scenario in Engineering and Technology is highly focused on Telecommunication, Information Technology (IT) and Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES) where ECE graduates have major roles to play. In addition, an ECE graduate can also opt for a career in Research and Development in various public and private organizations, Moreover, Government of India’s current vision like “DIGITAL INDIA" and "MAKE IN INDIA" will see ECE graduates’ vital contribution in fulfilling such initiatives and in the nation building process.

Pedagogy:

In Electronics and Communication Engineering department, we strongly believe in learning by doing. Therefore, the approach in delivering instructions is aided by lot of practical experiments, simulations and classroom discussions on the subjects. To fulfill the needs for an active learning environment, the department upgrades its labs with new equipment, hardware, software etc. on relevant upcoming technologies. Regular evaluation is a common practice to check whether the learning objective is achieved. It is done in the form of quizzes, class tests and presentations. Regular special classes are also arranged for improvement of weak students. Faculty Development Programme has been incorporated to upgrade the skills and knowledge of the faculties to match the latest trends. Regular technical workshops are provided for the students to make them up-to-date on latest industry trends in electronics and communication engineering. Classroom teaching involves lectures and tutorials, Lectures are directed towards analytical, conceptual, presentation, communication and application oriented skills of the students. The classrooms are well equipped with world class teaching aids like projectors and Wi-Fi for very interactive learning environment.

The department has well established infrastructure and facilities to meet all the requirements for the range of programs it offers. It is equipped with necessary hardware and software resources to meet the curriculum requirements and provide opportunities for additional learning. Programme Outcome:

Students will learn to do economic analysis especially cost estimates and feasibility of the projects in terms of design, construction, operation and maintenance of the systems in electronics and communication engineering domains. They will be able to identify, formulate and apply appropriate techniques, resources and to solve complex electronics & communication engineering problems. Students are made to understand and analyze the impact of electronics and communication engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental societal context and to our lives. Students will be able to work effectively in multidisciplinary technical teams, working cooperatively, respectfully, creatively in multi-cultural environments.
