Programme Overview:

Bachelors of Business Administration, is a three year degree program. This degree aims at providing fundamental education in business and management principles. RGU’s innovative BBA programme offers a new vision for business education. Based on an interdisciplinary and integrated curriculum, with team-based, problem solving and hands-on learning environment, the BBA programme prepares its students for the corporate world. Students will graduate with practical knowledge and skills that will help them set the highest possible standards at the workplace. They will learn how to analyze business environments, develop business plans, and work in cohesive teams and device effective solutions to real problems.

Pedagogy:

The school follows a pedagogy designed to equip the students with skills in conformity with those required by the dynamic ever-changing corporate environment. It includes a well-planned blend of industry exposure, conceptual learning, practical assignments and innovative projects. The system incorporates two-way communication and conceptual discussions which enable the students to develop an understanding of the course. Case based Teaching Methodology is followed to give a first-hand experience to the students. The focus of this process is to encourage group/ individual presentations which will enhance their analytical decision making abilities. Business simulations and role-plays which mimic real life business situations are regularly conducted in the curriculum. These simulations help the students in applying the learnt concepts and theories to aid business decision making. Assignments and projects on a regular basis are given to the students which further enhances their critical thinking, reasoning and creative skills. A lot of importance is given to Industry-Academia interface which help complement the class room learning and developing a practical perspective. Visits from both academia and industry are organized on diverse topics related to international business, cross-cultural management, business ethics and policy decision making. The school has floated three clubs along the lines of specializations viz., Marketing Management, Financial Management and Human Resource Management which organize events on a regular basis. The aim of Royal School of Business is to attract the youth potential of the North-Eastern region of the country and make them successful managers in the corporate world.

Career Opportunities:

BBA lays the basic platform on the basis of which students can further explore the field of management education. BBA is beneficial for all those students who want to join management field for career opportunities. Both government as well as private sectors offers career opportunities to BBA graduates. Management professionals are hired by wide variety of industries, MNCs and organizations.

The students can prepare for bank entrance examinations for building a career in the banking domain. Some of the domains where BBA graduates can be easily be absorbed are different private and public sector banks which include ICICI, HSBC, Standard Chartered, YES Bank, Axis bank and companies such as Delloitte offer various roles in finance sector such as financial analyst, management trainee, accountant etc. to the BBA graduates. Most of the BBA graduates strive hard to join this sector. Various companies providing sales and marketing profiles are SBI Life Insurance, Deutsche Bank, Nestle, Cadbury, Marico, Asian paints, Mudra, Leo Burnett etc. The aforementioned sales and marketing companies train the BBA graduates as per their company norms for delivering the required sales targets. Consulting services sector like IBM, Accenture, and Delloitte also provide ample employment opportunities and offer various roles in different management area (or functions).The BBA Graduates can also enroll for professional courses such as CA and ICWAI which are very much in demand these days. They can also enroll for post-graduation courses such as MBA and MCA depending on their choice. The BBA graduates can even opt for part-time jobs and enroll for some short duration computer courses which will be an added advantage. Students interested in taking up government jobs can prepare for UPSC exams such as civil services and NDA (National Defence Academy). The students also have good scope in fields such as accounting, real estate, information systems and entrepreneurship.

Programme Outcome:

After completion of the programme, the students will be able to inculcate a global mindset to analyze socio-political-economic environment of business organizations. They will be able to communicate effectively in different contexts and develop functional and general management skills, Students are empowered to demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and social skills, evaluate different business problems using analytical, creative and integrative abilities, and develop ethical thinking.
